Thank you for your interest in supporting our Fall 2017 5ks! Volunteers are sought November 29th - December 3rd for a variety of roles, including at Packet Pick Up Events as well as registration, course marshals, water station, parking support, and much more on the day of each 5k!
Each 5k event takes over 100 volunteers to be a success. We depend on volunteers to serve as greeters, buddy runners, course marshals, manage start and finish lines, water stops, and much more. We have a job for everyone who wants to help!

The Girls on the Run 5k is a critical piece of the Girls on the Run program; an example of healthy goal setting and achievement for all of our strong girls. The event brings together all local Girls on the Run families for a positive, girl-centered run.
The Fall 2017 Girls on the Run 5k will take place December 2nd and 3rd with an expected two-day attendance of over 7,000. Sponsorship levels include options for digital logo placement, event area sponsorship, employee engagement, and much much more.
Be a FundRunner
FundRunners support Girls on the Run of NOVA by sharing our mission with friends, family members, and colleagues, and by raising money to ensure all local girls can participate in our program.
FundRunners commit to raising $200 - enough to fund a full season scholarship for a girl in need - as well as your own 5k entry fee.
Girls on the Run of NOVA will support you throughout the season, helping your reach your fundraising goal. At the end of the season, you'll participate in our 5k alongside our strong girls.
FundRunners receive a Girls on the Run of NOVA t-shirt, 5k finisher medal, weekly training emails, access to online fundraising tools, templates, and more.
Packet Pick Up
Currently enrolled GOTR and H&S program participants will have their bibs mailed directly to their schools.
You do not need to attend a Packet Pick-Up event unless you have to pick up a buddy runner's bib.
Packet pick-up event details will be listed in early November. Please check back for more info!
The 5k t-shirt will be this shirt in Alpine Green. (Christine is wearing an Adult Small.)
Color Corrals + Waves
In order to provide the safest and most enjoyable event experience and to allow for plenty of space on the race courses, the 5k start at both events will be divided into waves of participants based on color corral assignments.
The color corrals are intended to be meeting points for teams prior to the start of the 5k, but they are also great meeting spots for families to reunite after the 5k has ended!
Color corral assignments will be posted in late October. Please check back for more information!
