Key takeaways included:

  • It never hurts to speak up if you see something that isn’t accessible in the community
  • Everyone has the right to take risks and try new things
  • Everyone wants to live, work, and be a part of their communities and they should have such opportunities
  • Everyone has talents and strengths
  • Use effective communication - this may mean communicating in a different way from what you are used to

We are incredibly thankful to Didlake for hosting this virtual training session for our coaches!

More about Didlake

Over 50 years ago, a handful of people in Manassas, Virginia, saw things differently. They passionately believed that all people deserved access to opportunities for growth, especially education. Committed to this belief, they created the Didlake School to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to learn and develop their full potential. Now expanding well beyond Manassas, Virginia, Didlake creates opportunities that enrich the lives of people with disabilities throughout Maryland and Virginia.
